Check Permissions

This option can be accessed within the User Overview by right-clicking on the selected user. The option is also available for users with administrative rights within the Main Menu in the menu.

With this option, all assigned folders of the user are displayed, including the permissions that apply within each folder.

Show Permissions

By clicking on the folder, the effective permissions of the user can be displayed.

This option allows you to check which users are assigned to a folder and what permissions they have in that folder.

Show Permissions

By clicking on the user, the effective permissions of the user can be displayed.

Here you can directly check a combination of user and folder. Useful if a specific user and folder need to be checked.

Assignment and Permission

An assignment initially only means that the user can navigate within this folder and thus see the filenames of the files within the folder. What this user can then do with these files is determined by the global or, if applicable, folder permissions that can be checked here.

Special Case: Subfolder Yes / Parent Folder No

If a user is assigned to a subfolder, they will also see all parent folders in the main menu that are necessary to properly display the subfolder (for expanding and collapsing). However, the user will only ever see the name of the folder. If an attempt is made to navigate into such a folder, no files of the folder will be displayed as expected, since the user is not assigned to this folder.
