Edit user

The following points are available additionally to Create User:

Login Management

Setting Purpose
Reset Password Sends the user a "Set Password" or "Reset Password" email to the currently stored email address of the user. Note: The current password will be deleted as a security measure until the new password is set.
Reset Login Attempts If the user has entered their password incorrectly multiple times, the account is temporarily locked and unable to log in. Here, the login attempts can be reset, thus unlocking the user.

Folder Permissions

If a user should have different permissions from their "global permissions" for a folder, a folder permission must be created. A folder permission can be created either by editing the user or by editing the folder.

Create Folder Permission
Create Folder Permission
Setting Purpose
Folder The folder for which the folder permission should apply.
Relevant User The user for whom this applies.
Activate Folder Permission Determines whether this folder permission should be active. If the checkbox is deactivated, the user's "global permissions" apply normally to this folder.

Subsequently, it can be determined per permission whether the user right (the global permission) should apply, or whether the permission should be granted or not for this folder.

Automatic Email Notifications

With an automatic email notification, it can be specified that when a new file is uploaded to a folder, a notification is automatically sent to certain people. There is a so-called "General Rule" that can be set in the folder, as well as "User-Specific Rules."

General Rule

With a general rule, a notification is sent for every upload of a new file, regardless of who uploaded the file.

User-Specific Rule

With a user-specific rule, a triggering user can be specified.

Rule Conflict

If there is a case where both a general rule for the folder and a user-specific rule for the user who is currently uploading a new file exist, the user-specific rule will be used.

User-specific rules can be created either by editing the user or by editing the folder.

Field Description
Folder The folder in which a file must be uploaded for this rule to apply.
Relevant User The user for whom this applies (if this user uploads something in this folder).
Recipients The users who should receive the automatic email notification.
All who belong to the folder: Send to everyone who has access to the folder.
Custom: To specific people. Selectable in the recipient table.
