Download

Download a file to save it on your device or to open it in another program. You get several files bundled as one ZIP file.

Downloading a file

  1. Click the file in the list.
  2. In the detail panel, click Download under Actions.
  3. Your browser saves the file, usually in your "Downloads" folder.

You can also view PDF files and images without downloading them, see File details.

Downloading several files as a ZIP

  1. Click Select several in the path bar.
  2. Select the checkboxes of the files you want.
  3. In the detail panel, click Download as ZIP.

A progress bar shows how far the ZIP file has got. Your browser then saves it.

When Download is greyed out

Move the mouse over the greyed-out button. The hint gives the reason:

Hint Meaning
Downloading is disabled for this file Allow download is switched off for this file. Viewing is usually still possible. In the list, the file shows a lock .
Downloading files is not permitted in this folder. You lack the Download permission in this folder. Contact your administrator.
This file is not active yet. Viewing and downloading are possible from the activation date. The file is scheduled for a later date.
At least one file may not be downloaded. In a multiple selection, at least one file is blocked. Remove it from the selection.

Good to know

Every download counts as an access. It increases the file's Views and the file then counts as read. Whoever provided the file sees the download in the history.

Deletion after access

If a file shows Will be deleted after the next view or download, the DocSecBox deletes it right after your download. This also applies when you download it as part of a ZIP. Save the file somewhere safe straight away. In the list, you recognise such files by the bin after the name.
